HEMLINE (A waste of skin)

A Music Video from The Accused featuring the screen debut of the always-lovely, yet gruesome and unforgiving Martha Splatterhead who, as you will see, sticks it to a few dirtbags and creeps that deserve what they get. The video's screenplay was inspired by classic '80's horror/slasher films, making it the perfect vehicle for The Accused to bring its star, Martha Splatterhead, to "real life" for the first time on film. The video was shot on two different locations--Marysville, Washington for the band's performance; and in San Diego, California where an entire "Splatter crew" worked day and night on the designing, constructing and filming of Martha Splatterhead's 'secret hideout'.

Beyond fear, beyond pain and beyond death...there is Splatter Rock!

"30 Years And Counting - The Legacy Continues..."

Some thirty years ago, on a small island in Washington State, three high school chums got together to form a punk rock band they called 'The Accused'. The group that, in 1981, served as little more than an outlet for pent-up adolescent angst, has stood the test of time to become one of the most influental and respected bands in the history of the heavy music underground.

As pioneers of what later became known as "crossover" music, The Accused were fusing hardcore punk's hyper-nihilism with the teethend claws of heavy(er) metal as far back as the early 1980's. By incorporating imagery spawned by their favorite type of low-budget, bloody horror flicks, they ultimately labeled their music 'Splatter Rock'--which also led them to creating an Iron Maiden-like mascot-- a female zombie vigilante known as "Martha Splatterhead", who's ghoulish image was conceived by Tommy Niemeyer lead guitarist for The Accused, and is a mainstay, oft-used iconic figure for the band.
